I’ve always felt that the well known approaches to categorising ET civilisations are arrogant, naive and myopic. I have my own model which one day I’ll include in my book of essays on Alienology, which goes well beyond the well known models. So why do I think so poorly of models like the Kardashev Scale and Michio Kaku civilisation types ? Essentially it gets down to their limited assessment of a civilisation based on technological development. Assessing an ET civilisation based on their technological development, does a couple of things :
- It projects our understanding of reality on the ETs.
- It projects our understanding of potential technologies and energy sources on the ETs.
- It structures our perception of ETs around technology and ignores spiritual development, social organisation, cultural development etc.
There are so many ways to model, categorise and compare civilisations. Why would we limit ourselves to our own limitations and to one aspect of a civilisation ? I don’t get that ! Nor do I get why we leave such things to scientists ? If we must categorise ET civilisations as we seem to want to do with everything we encounter : sense, perceive, group/class/classify/categorise, judge, react; then surely we can do it collaboratively with the input of people from all kinds of disciplines, who bring with them many different perspectives and aspects for us to assess, evaluate and understand !
And why would we place technological development above spiritual development ? That makes no fucking sense to me ! Except that it’s done by people who have spent so much time with their heads up their arses thinking about science and technology that they’ve forgotten to explore what it means to be alive and to grow as human beings. Spiritual development has to be a critical aspect of any categorisation of ET civilisations ! Making an assessment like this will teach us so much about ourselves, about how we project what we know about ourselves onto ETs and about ET spirituality. We’ll have to decide to abandon the notion of comparative levels and to recognise both difference and similarity for what it is. Not better than or worse than ! If we truly embrace spiritual development as a critical signature of how we might understand an ET civilisation, then we might actually be forced to understand the process of growth, change and evolution (and if evolution even exists !). And we might also be forced to ask hard questions of ourselves, like :
- How do we want to be as a species ?
- How do we want to grow as a species ?
- What are a critical faults, strengths, weaknesses and potentials as a species ?
- How might we get from here to there in our development ?
- What obstacles and challenges must we face and overcome if we are to grow spiritually as a species ?
There are of course many dangers of focusing too much on spiritual development or on emphasising spiritual development out of context. We might for example fall into a Ken Wilbur’ish form of self grandiosity at having seen all possibilities when we have actually seen nothing. Or more likely, we’ll develop spiritual development categories that like the Wilbur models, establish a kind of elitism towards which only certain humans can aspire and through which we can put the ETs in their place ! Any focus on spirituality has to be done through a lens like comparative religion, in which things are seen as they are and not categorised into levels – which ultimately depend on judgement and opinion. Factors which change all the time. For example, temperament and personality are ideas that are always in flux. What is popular today will be dead in a hundred years ! So any ideas that we create about categorising, must be flexible and open to change.
There is so much more we can do with how we look at and approach this entire concept of categorising civilisations. And up to this point, all we have is a handful of stuck up scientists telling us how it should be done and the rest of the human race watching from the sidelines like children at a circus !
If we are to truly develop a discipline like Alienology (and that’s just one possible, albeit lame name for such a discipline – I can’t stand Exopolitics and the like) in order to devote serious time, money, thinking and feeling towards understanding extraterrestrial life; then we must get past this science and technology driven way of approaching the subject !
Ultimately it’s science and technology that created so many of our human problems and that is pushing us towards the exploitation and weaponization of space. But it will be spirituality that helps us to grow enough to be truly ready to become space faring. We humans are kept non space faring because like certain men who think and acts with their dicks, we act with our heads and our technology and not with our hearts and our spirituality. Growing up is about learning to harmonise all aspects of our humanity. Right now it isn’t dick driven scientists and greedy fucking business men and politicians that make contact with ETs ! It’s people who know how to genuinely feel and who have a heart felt connection to the world around them. For whom separation, comparison and competition are irrelevant !
How would you look at an ET civilisation ? And how would you want them to look at us ?
This post is dedicated to Lisa R. for her recent donation and her ongoing encouragment, Frédéric H. for his encouragement and wonderful insights, Janet G. for her incredible kindness and loving care and Nick M. for his wonderful friendship and brilliaant outlook on life ! It’s people like you that keep ET and I going and make all my efforts worth while !
Hey folks, how’s life ?
I don’t read a lot of ET/UFO/Paranormal related books but in the last 6 months I’ve started reading a small number because I wanted to know what other people are saying about the phenomenon before I start writing my own books on the subject. 5 Books that have grabbed my interest, that I find some value in, include the following :
- Robbie Graham’s Reframing the Debate https://www.amazon.com/UFOs-Reframing-Debate-Robbie-Graham-ebook/dp/B071SK4V3F/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1496398706&sr=1-1&keywords=Robbie+Graham+Reframing
- Francesco Grassi’s CROP CIRCLES Signs of Intelligence: UFOs, Aliens and Close Encounters of the Second Kind https://www.amazon.com/CROP-CIRCLES-Signs-Intelligence-Encounters-ebook/dp/B01NBN25CD/ref=la_B01N4GJ7JH_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1496398617&sr=1-1
- Anne & Whitley Strieber’s The Communion Letters https://www.amazon.com/Communion-Letters-Anne-Strieber-ebook/dp/B01HEEZQYO/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1496398779&sr=1-1&keywords=Communion+Letters
- Preston Dennett’s Inside UFOs: True Accounts of Contact with Extraterrestrials https://www.amazon.com/Inside-UFOs-Accounts-Contact-Extraterrestrials-ebook/dp/B01MR5O9YB/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1496398837&sr=1-1&keywords=Preston+Dennet
- Mike Clelland’s The Messengers: Owls, Synchronicity and the UFO Abductee https://www.amazon.com/Messengers-Owls-Synchronicity-UFO-Abductee-ebook/dp/B018WWGTIY/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1496398879&sr=1-1&keywords=mike+clelland.
I don’t agree with some of the content in these books but I think they all have significant enough value to make them worthy additions to any library. I’m not really into reviewing other people’s books because I recognise that writing a book takes a lot of effort and it’s not for me to pass public judgment on a book (unless it’s really shit and I think it’s having way too much negative influence on people’s attitudes!). The only cautionary note I would add is that 3 out of 5 of these books are written by white American’s, so you may end up with a very Americanized version of how things are. That aside, these are all good books for one reason of another ! Most of these books really challenge the preconceptions of how things are and willingly step beyond the typical stories we hear about ETs and UFOs.
My intention with own ET related books is to present a point of view that goes beyond some of these books – not because I’m arrogant who thinks he can do better (I don’t – fiction/poetry is what I’m most comfortable with) but because I feel very strongly about presenting a unique point of view that reflects the ETs and ET contact experience as I have learned about it first hand.
So where am I at ? Well, as many of you know I went through the darkest event of my life earlier in the year and there has been no resolution to that issue. My sister also died a month after that and I’m in the early part of having treatment for my tumours (ten years next month yeah baby !). The plans I had of knocking over 2-3 ET related books in 2017-2018 have been kicked aside, as I put my creative life on hold, trying to deal with this other stuff. Now at last I’m finally back into writing after a 4 month kick in the guts !
My first priority has been to finish a compendium of poetry I’ve been working on for a long time. I have about a month to go on that and have begun work on a second compendium.
The interview with Dude is almost complete and has been put into a book form. Last night I added a second section which will include the Dude Maxims and a range of conversations I have had with Dude on the nature of the self, reality, space, conjoined space/parallel worlds/parallel lives, consciousness and the life force. I was going to add these to a second book but then thought they would make a good addition to ths book. I may yet write a book based on questions I’ve asked Dude. I should have the Dude interview book finished by the end of the year. It take’s so long to sit and transcribe as he and I are talking, then to edit it and then to transcribe the other conversations I recorded on my iPod and edit them. I’m still not sure whether I should include the Jesus question that was asked.
I am also looking at writing a large book of ET related essays (based on many of the articles I’ve posted here). I’m currently compiling articles I’ve written here into a book format – so I can re-write them and add new articles. That book may take 2 years to write (2018-2019 ?).
The ET art book has stalled because it depends on my ex-wife Rachel Bree feeling up to it. She’s had a very hard time this year and is not up to doing the illustrating any time soon. I’m optimistic though, she will be willing to continue working on the project at some point in the next 18 months or so. It’s a really difficult project because I have to sit down and go through all of my experiences, remember as much as I can, sit with her for hours at a time and describe what I’ve seen (ETs and scenarios) and work together on getting the images right. Dude was the one who initially talked her into the project – so he thinks it’s important and she knows that. But she needs to feel up to working on it because it will be a huge endeavour for both of us ! She has however committed to finishing Dude’s image in the next month !
I had wanted to write a book about my ET contact experiences (with 30 plus ET races) later this year but I don’t know if I will have the time. It will be a big book and I need a lot of energy to work on it. Perhaps I’ll be able to start it in 2018.
Once the Dude interview book is completed, I hope to start working on the Anamika interview. I’ll call for more questions before I start and narrow them down to a final selection, as I did with the Dude questions. I’ll try to knock that interview over much quicker if I can. Ill also add a section based on conversations we’ve had.
If I could I’d also like to transcribe some of the monologues and put them into a book form but that’s hard work. I may have to slowly pay someone to do it for me !
Despite all of these intentions, it’s my fiction that is most important to me. I have a book of plays and a musical to type up and edit, a couple of plays to finish, a journal book to typeup and edit and 3 novels I want to complete. My non fiction plays second fiddle to the stuff I really want to write ! And of course everything depends on whether I enroll in the PhD I’ve spoken about next year or the year after and my health stabilizing ! If I’m dead in a year or two, it was all hot air !
So what’s the take away message ! I’m working hard to deliver on the projects I’ve talked about. It’s definetly a good idea to read other people’s books because mine are taking forever and there are some good ET related books out there ! If my health stays good, I’ll be trying to complete the following non fiction projects in the next 5 years :
- Dude Interview – “An Interview and Conversations with An Extraterrestrial – Part One” (working title).
- Anamika Interview – “An Interview and Conversations with An Extraterrestrial – Part Two” (working title).
- “An Interview and Conversations with An Extraterrestrial – Part One & Two” (working title). Both books combined.
- “Otherworldly Encounters : Contact with Non Human Entities” (working title).
- The ET Art Project (working title).
- Essays on Alienology (working title) – need a better word. ETs are not alien when you know who they are !
The ET contact audio will eventually get done ! The thought of doing it annoys the hell out of me ! So think of it as a one day, one day, one day, are we there yet……kinda project. And as promised a million times, it will all be free to those who have supported my work.
Thank you very much for all your ongoing support and encouragement ! If you’d like to support my work, you know how and if you don’t follow the Support the ET and I Project button on the top of the RHS of this page. I need to have a very expensive $1,500 specialist scan soon (to find out if another treatment has any chance of working) that Medicare doesn’t cover, among othere medical and other expenses. So, your donations will make a significant impact on keeping me going !
I’ll post book updates as things progress !
Today I added a more extensive list of potential research for GETCRN (http://getcrn.ning.com/potential-research-topics/potential-research-subjects) and I think you will be able to see from this list, that we really know so little about the ET contact experience. This really is a new discipline waiting to be born. Whether we call it Alienology or Contactology or something else !
I won’t hide the fact that I am more interested in what our beliefs about ETs says about us, than what it says about the ETs but it’s only through developing greater self awareness and socio-anthropological awareness (I think I just made that up !), that we will begin to truly understand our cosmic visitors. We must look inwards as much as looking outwards ! Both at the same time !
Feel free to let others know about GETCRN or to share your own ideas about the kinds of research we need to do on the ET contact experience.
Here’s a video I made a while back on dimensionality, from a purely physical perspective. I looked utterly crap then. This was back when my tumours had taken off again and I was exhausted !
When I first began talking about my ET experiences on my old blog Otherworldly Encounters in 2009, I did so, partly as a result of a long period of frustration with the entire public world of UFOlogy. I was annoyed with so many aspects of the whole culture surrounding the UFO and ET subject. I could see clearly that there were at least three distinct veins to people’s interest in the subject. Those who were only interested in UFOs; those who were only interested in ETs; and those who were interested in both. Picture if you like a continuum with the UFO types at one end and the ET types at the other and everyone else who has an interest in the subject scattered in between. In addition to this I recognized that people filtered their interest in the subject through their own particular conditioning filters, which resulted in very specific types of attitudes. On the one hand, were the fundamentalist materialists or religious people and on the other hand, were people who were completely open to what the subject means. Most people fit somewhere between the two extremes. The people I found hardest to deal with were the materialist fundamentalists (hardcore scientists with closed minds) and the religious fundamentalists (usually Christians who see ETs as pawns of Satan – Satan should be so lucky !). These are the people who most often attack me when I share my experiences. But that’s their problem, not mine.
One of the things I’ve noticed since I was a teenager, is that there are experts in every field. It just seems to be something that humans do. What I have observed in the UFO/Alienology field, is that expertification of people, seems to arise through 7 primary mechanisms :
- They declare themselves as experts.
- They write lots of books on a subject and are subsequently seen and treated as experts. They often then internalize this idea of being an expert.
- They talk a lot about the subject and are subsequently seen and treated as experts. They often then internalize this idea of being an expert.
- They get into lots of debates on the subject and earn subtle and gross victories that sway the beliefs of others. They often then internalize this idea of being an expert.
- They belittle lots of other people who talk about the subject. Believing themselves to be THE expert.
- They filter out ”key ideas” in the field; pilfering here, there and everywhere and then present their own ideas as a rehash of other popular ideas.
- They go through a kind of “peer review” process, in which they present their ideas to the public and reshape them according to public response, until they find ideas that they and others can be comfortable with. Having been through the journey of “peer review”, they now qualify as experts in their own eyes and the eyes of others.
Some people become experts by virtue of their beliefs, others through their ability to read large amounts of information, others through distorting religious or scientific conditioning and some through actual experience with UFOs or ETs. Those that can speak about ETs through their own experience are in the very small minority. Those that can speak about ETs through their own experience from a point of well developed self awareness, are in an even smaller minority.
So, you might wonder, do I consider myself an expert in this field ? And my answer to you is NO. I don’t believe that anyone can be an expert in this field. And here’s why. First – unless you have first hand experience, you can only assess your material on the basis of what others have said. Second – an unaware ego underscores all individuals who see themselves as experts. Third – it is impossible to have any form of peer review in this field, without innate bias; in the form of conditioning, ego, popularity and conflict of interest. Forth – to be an expert in this field, you almost have to be an expert in understanding human nature in its entirity.
To understand human nature, it’s critical to have a high degree of your own self-awareness. And that’s the one thing I rarely see in this entire field. Instead what I see is unaware ego on the loose everywhere ! This manifests in UFO experts, the demonization of ETs, UFO and ET cults, conferences with all-knowing experts, forums that are raging with internal conflicts, secrecy via The Architecture, naive and deliberate disinformation and huge numbers of books that advocate the good alien vs bad alien and allies of the human race kind of duality that has made our species sick.
So I don’t see myself as an expert. But what I will openly say, is that I’ve had life long experience with a large number of ET races. And all my life I’ve tried hard to embrace all life and to understand the nature of reality. In the last 20 years I’ve devoted large periods of my life to developing self-awareness – awareness of the small self and the greater self and the experience of being a human being. I try to speak with integrity and from a point of greatest possible awareness. It’s up to you to decide if I ever say anything worthy of your attention. I can’t convince you of anything.
I don’t see evil anywhere. I see ignorance. And so when I look at into the universe, I imagine life at various different points on a continuum from ignorance to full self-awareness. The Teal’hia said “WE ARE GOD INCARNATE”, not because they are egotistic but because they know their true nature. And that is the very thing that the vast majority of humans lack – a true appreciation of our true nature. And so we look out into the universe with our lack of awareness and we cast judgement on all we find. Including extraterrestrials. So much of what has entered this field, has nothing to do with the reality out there and everything to do with the reality within and how the human mind has the capacity to distort everything.
One of the reasons I have set up GETCRN, is so that we can continue to learn about the ET Contact Phenomenon, the nature of our Cosmic Family and the nature of the human experience, without it all being bound up in the limitations of popular beliefs and so called experts. I think I know a lot about the contact experience and ETs but I will continue learning throughout my entire existence. If I can help others to embrace a boundless approach to learning about these subjects, then I will have done something good for the human race and played a small role in helping us to grow up.
It’s not possible to be an expert on the without, when we know so little about the within. And the sooner we drop this idea about experts, the sooner we will evolve and begin to embrace things how they really are and begin to value the great unfathomable mystery of life and being.
In centuries from now, many humans will have developed far great self awareness than their ancestors. And it’s those human beings who will be ready to have open relationships with our Cosmic Family. But we must begin laying the foundation for them now by learning about WHO WE REALLY ARE. Without excuse.
Hey folks – here’s an update on some of the Alien Disclosure/Contact related surveys I have tried to do over the last year. You can download most of them or access links to the full data for those that haven’t saved fully. Please note – anywhere it mentions personal details like address, email, phone number – that seems to be a default setting that came up in the results – I didn’t ask such questions. All surveys were set up or reset this year (the dates show the original survey). These are a follow up to some of the previous surveys I have done over the last 5 years. Like most surveys, they received few responses and were limited to the limitations of having a free Survey Monkey account. Still I think they provide us with some interesting insights.
If you’d like to participate in these surveys, you can do so via the following links :
Disclosure to me is just a silly obsessive idea that consumes people. Better to learn to have ET contact yourself ! But I do believe in transparency and sharing information. So this is my effort to share what I have learned from YOU.
Thanks to everyone who participated in these surveys and to any future participants ! 😉
Sometimes I wonder how it is possible to tell people about the things I’ve been allowed to experience with my ET friends. I honestly don’t know. But I know what I have been experiencing is an ongoing experience for our species. I know that in time, what I have experienced will be common place. But right now it isn’t. But this is my now, sometimes, my present moment, when my friends come to visit. And all I can do to encourage others to believe it’s possible, to encourage them to use their imagination and think as openly as they can about what it’s like to have grown up and become aware of our cosmic family. People used to hang off Jean-Luc Picard’s every word but few of those same people took what he had to say to heart. Which is a shame, because the things he said then are as relevant today to our situation, as they were in the world of Star Trek.
